About Me
My name is Emily, and like all of us, I have experienced both the highs and the lows of life. I left my home country due to a civil war when I was very young. In my mid-thirties, I faced a severe depression during the financial crisis, struggling to find employment. Most recently, in 2021, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. While the treatment has induced menopause, I am learning to navigate these changes and remain deeply grateful to be alive.
Throughout these challenges, I often felt the need for support and reached out to various therapists and professionals. Some were helpful, while others were less so. This experience made me realise that while talking is beneficial, I needed more than just conversation. I needed someone I could connect with and trust, who could offer new perspectives and ideas. Finding such a person is not always easy. Although no one can solve your problems for you, they can certainly support you, maybe even show you the way and absolutely be someone you feel comfortable talking to. This is the kind of support I hope to provide. Let me know what you are thinking.
